Chain Reaction
So those keen eyes may of noticed that there was no post from me a while back. For that I apologize, however, I do come bearing gifts of what I was working so hard on that I forgot to post on ShSc.
This is a collaborative project that I worked on with design company We Love Inc., some fellow AUT students and our clients Furniture Lab & Dulux.
The brief was to create a Rube Goldberg machine that exhibits Furniture Lab’s furniture, including chairs made up from completely recycled Coke bottles! The end result was to splatter a chair in paint. The chairs, which were then auctioned off to help raise money for Christchurch.
One of the difficulties was that the exhibit had to be resettable, which was quite limiting, but also allowed for some really elegant designs to come forth.
But all’s well that ends. (Thankfully, because the 18 hour days were killing me!) We even got our exhibit featured on the news!
